There are a number of vaporizers available these days in the market. Ordinary vaporizers generally use a lighter with jet flame as a source of heat. Though general lighter can also be used but mostly jet flame or torch lighters are given preference as they do not blemish vaporizer pipes with dirt. Some vaporizers use electric heating equipment with temperature regulator devices for thermal energy transfer. These high variety vaporizers are a bit costly.

Mainly vaporizers can be classified in three parts, on the basis of their substance heating technique-

• Thermal conduction vaporizers
• Convection heating vaporizers
• Radiation heating vaporizers

Conduction heating vaporizers are those vaporizers in which the substance is placed on a metal surface and then heated to discharge the active components. These were the first to get into the market and are still manufactured today.

In convection heating vaporizer substance does not touches the heating surface, instead hot air pressure is passed through it rapidly which lets active ingredients to get released.
Radiation heating vaporizers expose the substance to bright radiations. The substance accumulates this radiation and gets heated up. These are very less in number but are equally compatible as convection vaporizers.
